CJB 2021 COVID-19 Prevention Requirements

Stay Home When Sick

All CJB participants must conduct a daily self-assessment for COVID symptoms. Anyone experiencing COVID symptoms must stay home; participants must be symptom-free for 14-days to participate in or be a spectator at CJB games and practices. (Source: NYS, p14)

Physical Distancing & Masks

  • All participants should maintain a distance of six feet apart and wear masks when shorter distances are required.
  • Players are not required to wear masks if unable to tolerate a face covering for the physical activity (practices, games) provided, however, coaches, trainers, and other individuals who are not directly engaged in physical activity wear a face covering. Concession stand staff should wear masks at all times. (Source: NYS, p5)

Healthy Hygiene Practices

  • All participants are required to wash their hands with soap frequently, use hand sanitizer, refrain from spitting, and must cover their coughs and sneezes. (Source: NYS, p12)
  • Coaches and players must refrain from personal contact celebrations such as high-fives, fist bumps and shaking hands. Coaches and players are encouraged to give each other virtual high-fives or virtual fist bumps and tip their hats to show appreciation. (Source: NYS, p7)
  • Seeds, chewing gum and products of the like are not permitted.
  • Participants are not permitted to share drink bottles and other personal items such as face covers.
  • Players should have their own equipment. When it is absolutely necessary to share critical game equipment, the equipment must be cleaned with a disinfectant approved against COVID between users.
  • Coaches should designate two players to retrieve foul balls (as appropriate).

Cleaning and Disinfecting

  • CJB coaches should instruct their team to clean and disinfect their personal equipment after use; coaches should disinfect any team equipment after each game or practice. (Source: NYS, p3)
  • CJB concession stand staff should clean and disinfect common areas, surfaces, and tools regularly and completely each day.

Minimizing Group Interactions

  • Spectators are limited to two adults per player. Families with young spectators should plan on sitting together while watching games and practices. Always supervise children. (Source: NYS, p5)
  • Participants should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to their game time.
  • Participants will not congregate in common areas prior to or following games and practices.

COVID-19 Resources

All bats carry a certification, most commonly USA, USSSA, or BBCOR. All CJB House League levels between TBall and Major must use ONLY USA certified bats. USSSA or BBCOR bats are not permitted at these levels. All CJB House League bats should include the following label:

USA Bats

The USA Baseball standard applies to the Little League organization (as well as CJB House baseball). USA certified bats have a wood-like performance that preserves the integrity of the game and keeps younger players as safe as possible.

Other Certifications

The following bat certifications are NOT APPROVED for CJB House League use.

BBCOR

The Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution (BBCOR) measures the trampoline effect in each bat at and after the time of impact. BBCOR certified bats are most commonly at the high school and college level. Note: BBCOR bats are required for Senior League Fall Ball (levels 13U and older).

USSSA BPF

Bat Performance Factor (BPF) measures how fast the ball comes off of the bat. 1.15 is the standard for many travel tournaments.
