2017-18 Canandaigua Jr. Baseball – Travel Team Tryout Important Information

·         Tryout Dates:         
Sunday, September 17th – 12U – 9:00 – 10:30   10U – 10:30 – 12:00

Sunday, September 24 – 12U Only – 9:00 – 10:30

Sunday, October 1        - 10U Only – 9:00 – 10:30

·         Times are subject to change per weather and etc

·         Attendance at a minimum of 1 tryout sessions is required but highly recommended to attend both

·         CJB’s intention is to field teams at the 12U, 11U, 10U & 9U levels based on player interest at each level.  There is no guarantee there will be multiple teams at each level. Age Eligibility is based on the players age as of 4/30/18.  For example, if Joey is 10 years old on 4/30/18 he is eligible for the 10U team.

·         The tryout process for all levels is being coordinated by all evaluators and in conjunction with the CJB Board of Directors. The player evaluators will consist of the CJB Board approved travel coaches at each level as well as several other CJB Board members or selected individuals.

·         The player evaluation form will be the same for each age group.  There are no guarantees that all kids will make a travel team.

·         After the 2nd tryout session – all evaluators will meet and the final rosters for each team will be selected.  The head coach at each level will be contacting the parents shortly after tryouts are over to let them know if their son/daughter.

·         EACH PLAYER SELECTED TO A TRAVEL TEAM IS REQUIRED TO PLAY IN THE CJB HOUSE LEAGUE IN THE SPRING OF 2018 – ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO PLAY IN 75% OF THE HOUSE LEAGUE GAMES PER CJB RULES – EXCEPTIONS ARE SCHOOL CONCERTS, SCHOOL FUNCTIONS, FAMILY EMERGENCIES AND MODIFIED SPORTS.  THE BOARD WILL US LOGIC WHEN THIS INSTANCES COME UP.

·         The game schedules for each team will be determined by the head coach.  The intent for these teams is to play 20-30+ games beyond our house league.  This can be accomplished through tournament play or entering into a competitive travel league such as MCBR or another league of coaches choice.  Either through tournament or travel league play – the game season will more than likely start in early April 2018 and run through early August. 

·         Once the teams are formed – the practice schedule will also be set by the head coach.  Practices will begin this fall and run through til the end of the season. 

·         The final cost to play travel baseball will be determined by the head coach once the league/tournament schedule is determined. 

·         Upon selection to one of the teams – a $100 payment will be required to hold the spot on the team.  This payment will be put towards the final cost.

·         All travel team finances will be handled by the Head Coach of each team and not CJB.
